Houston Zoo

I went to the Houston Zoo today at Hermann Park and had a great time.  It was one of the only zoo’s I’ve been to where the animals don’t look sickly.  The park is very clean and the exhibits are nice.  I was mostly impress with the rhinoceroses.  I thought they were extinct and clearly I was mistaken.  They had three rhino’s!  To me that was the most exciting part of the zoo.

I was able to watch some people feed the giraffes which was pretty cool too.  The aquarium section wasn’t anything to write home about but that’s not why I go to the zoo anyway.  I go to see some pretty awesome animals that I can’t find in my backyard.  I just wish things were more open.  It’s kind of hard trying to take quality pictures through cages and make it look like they are in their natural environment.  They need to make a zoo where there are no cages so your pictures aren’t obscured.  Unfortunately, I’m sure legal issues will prevent that from happening.  Until then, please enjoy the pictures below:
